SPRINGFIELD, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Spok, Inc. today announced that UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco has
completed a project to upgrade its suite of Spok® solutions for both
patient care and the call center. The latest versions of the Spok operator
console, web
directory, on-call
scheduling, and clinical
alerting solutions will enable UCSF to improve communications
throughout the hospital. The addition of system redundancy will also
enhance the entire communications platform with an extra layer of
security and reliability.
“We are consistently fortifying our communication infrastructure to
provide our clinicians tools that will improve daily workflows and
patient care,” said Otto Fung, IT infrastructure project manager and
team lead at UCSF Medical Center. “Upgrading to new versions of
solutions allows us to expand usage throughout the hospital, and
implementing an additional server will support continuity in the event
of an emergency.”
The immediate availability of updated schedules means the right person
can be reached at all times, enabling nurses and physicians to easily
coordinate patient care. Several departments new to Spok’s on-call
scheduling capabilities are already seeing time savings as they manage
these critical schedules and locate the appropriate on-call staff
members.
